The Victorian Perinatal Emergency Referral Service (PERS)

works in partnership with two well established organisations dedicated to the care of newborn babies and critically ill children - the Victorian Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS) and the Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS).

Currently, PERS and NETS share a common co-ordination service; it is planned that PETS will also share that common co-ordination service in the future.

NETS: Newborn Emergency Transport Service (Victoria)
|
The Newborn Emergency Transport Service (Victoria) provides safe inter-hospital transportation of sick newborn infants, advice regarding care of sick newborn infants, an extensive continuing education programs in perinatal care, and advice on organisation and provision of facilities for newborn care.

The Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS) transfers critically ill children from hospitals throughout Victoria, Tasmania, and southern New South Wales to the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.
